About Me

As long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for helping others. As a young child, I always made sure the new kid in class felt welcomed. As a teen, I spent summers working with underserved kids. As a young adult, I continued on this path and found my niche working with emotionally challenged foster kids in residential care.

What I found frustrating while working in the formal Social Service arena was being bound and constrained by the restrictions of bureaucracy when advocating and providing the best quality of care for my clients. That’s when the dream of having my own business began to emerge.

Along with having the passion to help others, I also had the passion and knack for organization. My parents never needed to tell me to clean up my room. I had the neatest, most organized homework book in high school. My aptitude for space planning served me well in setting up my small Vassar College dorm room as a mini studio apartment. As a professional, these skills contributed to my success as a respected administrator.

In 2005, I began helping family and friends with their organizational needs. I realized that the skills I had mastered over the years – empathy, active listening, multi-tasking, patience, to name a few – were the exact skills needed to effectively help others with their organizational challenges. Limited by the constraints of working as a Social Worker, I decided the next logical step was to start my own business …and “RESTART with Rachel” was born!

As a Professional Organizer, I focus on life and lifestyle organization. I help clients clear their clutter and become more focused, productive and fulfilled by supporting and guiding them to reach their full potential. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of professional experience, I combine my extensive therapeutic expertise and access to available systems and services with my passion for physical organization to teach clients to “let go” of their external (environmental) and internal (emotional) clutter, ultimately freeing them to achieve their deepest desires and highest goals.

I’m an active member of NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers) as well as ICD (Institute for Challenging Disorganization), which strengthens my dedication to my clients.

I specialize in working with individuals who have recognized and acknowledged that their clutter has been adversely affecting their lives for some time, keeping them unproductive and unhappy. Using my 7-step RESTART Solution, I collaborate with my clients to help them trade chaos for serenity, add hours to their days and days to their lives and create positive changes in all that they do and aspire to be.

You may not be able to change the life around you, but you can
RESTART with Rachel
and change your way around life!
